Not sure what the deal is here, figured I'd post to see if anyone had some ideas. I hadn't played single player games in a while, but decided to pick up Witcher 3 & Pillars of Eternity, having some random issues with the trainers.

I've used the main POE trainer, the POE editor, and the main Witcher 3 trainer in the last few weeks, and all of their functions work just like they should (for a while at least), do what they're supposed to & I don't get any crashes/errors in-game. BUT the Witcher 3 trainer & the POE editor will randomly close themselves out, for no discernible reason. It's especially bad w/ the POE editor, which typically closes itself out within seconds of running it. On the other hand, POE main trainer functions perfectly near as I can tell, no issues with it thus far (stays open & doesn't close unless I tell it to).

Running windows 8, have never had any issues like this w/ CH stuff before. For both issues, they will frequently close themselves before I even start the game so I don't think it has to do with the games themselves. I have tried it with and without my AV (just Webroot) active, seems to have no effect. Ran the programs in admin mode. Not sure what else could be the problem, though I will note that if I have the trainer manager open and the cheat window closes it also closes the trainer manager window. Not sure if that could help diagnose it or not.

In any event, given that this was not game-specific I posted in the general forum, anyone got advice?

could be anti-virus killing the process or something, I'm not entirely sure since I never heard of this issue before.

I recall reading not too long ago about somebody in these forums that was having issues and was also using Webroot. Came to find out that even though he felt sure he had completely disabled his AV, there was a component still running. Like Anti-Rootkit or real time scanning maybe.

That turned out to be the reason he was having problems but I can't recall exactly which feature it was. It might be a good idea to investigate your AV further.

Edit: The more I think about it I believe it was the Rootkit.
