I'm currently at the mission where I shall stop a fleeing prisoner. Unfortunately I'm unable to since he is way faster than me because the character decides to hide himself when I try sprinting near anything he can hide in or to jump to edges and ledges instead of just running over the edge of a building roof.

Is there any way to get the NPC with the help of the trainer or without?

pay attention to your surroundings (hides and ledges) and maneuver accordingly. Are you still in Havana? if so I caught him when he got slowed down by civilians.it takes practice, and many failed attemps (desynchronization) to succeed with the Assassination Contract.
