When I try to open the trainer it says "how do you want to open this file" and give me other program options. All of windows 10 defender options are off and I did a couple of reboots with no result. I want to play Assassin´s Creed Chronicles: China since it is free for a couple of days on Uplay right now, any idea what should I do?

Try resetting your windows default apps.

Apparently, the folder name was too long. That caused this issue to happen. I made a folder name acc and extracted archive to it and it started working "even with windows defender totally on".
P.S: I tried resetting default apps, didn't help.

This game is now being offered for free on Uplay (2019-02-02).
