When I built my current PC, I used a FX-8350. The idea behind an AMD build is that you can build a very apt pc and still have money for good GPU's etc. If I were building a pc today, there is no way I would spend $300 for an AMD cpu. If I were, I would spend the money on an intel based machine since it uses much less power and you can get a major cpu for $300.

While the FX-9590 is fast, it is also extremely power hungry --220w. I have my 8350 OC'd at 4.6ghz and it uses half the power as the 9550 without sacrificing too much speed. That being said, the fun of building a pc is that it is your $$ and you can pick out whatever you think works best for you.
Building the cheaper PC gave me the extra funds to try my hand at Water Cooling, but again, that is what was good and fun for me not you.
So what ever parts you decide on, I am sure they will be exactly what you wanted.

    There is my last build(Fx-8350 4.6ghz with 2 waterblocked hd-7950s running 1100ghz).
Get crazy, get creative and have fun making the pc your own. Enjoy making your new build!

well my AMD 970 3.5ghz is OC to a 4.0ghz I have a 1000watt power supply so im looking for more power in my cpu but need to upgrade my motherboard to support the new cpu this should be good for the next 5years then new video card

That's a dandy improvement. Sounds about right, too. My single Titan Black usually runs around 100-112 in-game and air cooled. I use a lower rez than you so it's not working as hard.

I haven't done much with 4K but I've been thinking about getting a 2nd T/B to run SLI. Coupla questions.

Do you know what FPS you got with just a single card compared to two in Crossfire at a lower rez? Like maybe 19 x 10 or 25 x 16? Did you sample things at the lower rez's on the way up?

I dunno if you could do this or not. Pick up a medium range NVidia card to do just dedicated Phys-X processing? Here's a guy that put an AMD HD 7870 with a NVidia GTX-460 to do it:

I bet that'd be a bugger to setup in yours though.
