Run trainer, run game, press alt+tab to exit game screen to go to desktop. Search on-sreen keyboard, If your pc has it. Turn on it's num pad. Press keys for trainer options. Press alt+tab again to go back to game screen. Can Not tell you how overjoyed I was to hear activated on trainer options.

Is the Alienware keyboard different than the first one you tried? Or is it that the num pad (lock) didn't work on the first KB but does work on the Alienware KB? We're all curious what the difference is...what made it finally work? Or was it the trainer directions afterall?
And what's the first game trainer you're using?
