This seems like a novice question and I don't consider myself a novice nor do I claim to be an expert, but how do I equip new weapons and armor in this game? I've searched the net and found only answers to the 360 version.

nevermind I got it, still looking for the new DLC weapons and armor though, do I have to buy them specifically online or something.

Do I need to hang out in one particular area if I'm looking for something specific like the armor of Aeons then?
