At first I thought that this game was a game on rails but after some thought I realize that in more ways then one this game is more an open world game rather then an on the rails game.

    Definitely a hybrid.

You can use your Power to open up areas before any story based objectives are there, you're encouraged to explore and do as much in each locale as you can to strengthen the Inquisition.

So you can treat it like a slightly more locked-down Skyrim, or you can just follow the primary Inquisitor questlines to advance the story and get your traditional RPG on.

The question is, how successful is this hybrid formula?

I love to explore, and I find new icons on the map as I do. I don't know if there is a time limit on a quest, though.

I'm hung up on finding bear claws now. I've been around and around the icon area and only found 3 of the 4.

If I remember right, the bear claw quest only calls for 3 not 4 and completes on its own when you find the 3rd. I could be wrong though, I was doing like 3 or 4 others things at the same time and the bears just kept tracking me down from across the map it seemed like lol
