...which is "Besser gut geklaut als schlecht erfunden" roughy translated as 'well stolen is better than badly invented'.
After finishing it I have to come to the conclusion, that storywise the game is a total ripoff. Don't get me wrong, I really like the game but it shamelessly stole and combined the elements of:
Resident Evil -> zombie combat feeling and the zombie drops,
Silent Hill -> atmosphere, reality crashes, pyramide... ah safehead, nurse,...
F.E.A.R -> the Alma/Fettel invincible enemy with braincontrol concept.
Alone in the Dark (2008)-> reshaping/restruction of the city concept
Did I forget anything?

It's by the same director who made Resident Evil. And what do you expect from a horror game? They're all similar. Everytime you are in a hospital or mental asylum. You are hunted by a fat guy. And you don't have much to protect yourself. And they are playing with your mind.

Did I forget anything? The only difference between them is the way they let you fear. In my opinion evil within has a very good balance between action phases and very slow gameplay. It's a solid horror game but nothing you would remind of having a unique style.
