Some things I have noticed based on my experience:

Be sure to click the "Activate" button.

Be sure to click the "Set" button for a chosen jackpot.
Go back and click it several more times if it doesn't work the first time.

Make several "pulls" of the slot handle if it doesn't work the first time.

Problem I am having it seems that the jackpot machine seems to stop functioning when I have the jackpot editor on. And when it eventually works again (after a very long time), it does not spit out anything.

Does this editor only work after certain progression? Or is it because there was an update that messed up the functionality of this trainer?

To get the jackpot editor to work for me i have to do this when the game is running and i am standing in front of the machines:

Press ALT+TAB (to get to the trainer)
Select the result i want and press the "set" button, followed by clicking on the "activate" button.

Then just click on the game window again. This has always worked for me, i just get nervous on using ALT+TAB mid game (most times in the past it has caused games to crash) but this game is stable enough to use this method (for me it is).
