Actually I lied..
It does work, but not for rare items for upgrading.
You won't see them go up, but they do when you go to a different section of your inventory and back.
Passive Detectors are great for upgrading, they have a lot of XP. Just highlight them and hold in Num Pad 6 and wait

Yeah, As you progress through the story, there more rare ones that give off waay more XP.
The trainer works great! I may be hard of hearing but didn't anyone hear the weird sound when you turn on MAX ATB Gauge? like whirring sound is on when that specific one is turned on.. doesn't anyone have this same issue?
