I never had a pre-load issue myself, everytime I have pre-loaded it only took 3-5 minutes to finish and I could play.

The only game I pre-loaded was Skyrim. It worked well. I did have to revalidate one file. That was better than having to redo the whole she-bang!

I preloaded Skyrim, and it screwed up for me.

Seems like it's a dice roll whether it ****s up or not.

I never had trouble with pre-loaded games.
Haveing a seperate HDD for game installations only here.
Ussually for most games on HDD it beeing 3-4 minutes, even for the big ones that take up the most HDD space.

Since recently I replaced the HDD for an SSD and the times only dropped to like 2 minutes max, game loading times were also dropped. Even the biggest of maps don't take more then 6 seconds or something.

I supose running games+ windows + skype and all ur other **** of the same HDD does have major impact on such performance.
Hell its why I started to use multiple drives to begin with.

Yay for Beyond Earth! Arriving on one of those weird silver disc things tomorrow by post. Will put that in my computer box and install from there after work. Will probably then have to update on the interweb or something.

Still, looking forward to the game once it gets going.

I pre load games all the time and have never had any issues either. I think it is a great option for those of us that want to play the new game the second it is available to play. Having to wait for it too install can take a whole day here too, so not pre loading it wwould just mean having to wait another day before i could play the game. Why wait when one does not need too?

A silver disc thing... what is this technology of yore you speak of?

That is the smartest thing I have ever heard anyone say about anything.
