MalwareBytes is a highly recommended little app everybody should have. They offer both Premium and Free versions. It has found various malware on my various computers over many years that my virus app didn't detect.

Thanks for the heads up. The best defense here remains "do not download files form unknown sources".

Yes, its a great program. I like the premium version as it offers real time scanning. No conflicts (that I have discovered) with Cheat Happens which is important.

It's unnecessary.

Quite frankly, I am so unimpressed with the software that when I encounter it on the computer of a friend or family member I toss out the same joke... "Look, you have a virus. It's called MalwareBytes."
