Does anyone know if it might be possible to unlock gear, pre-release bonuses, skins, stuff like that?

not legally, since you have to pay for that. And if you havnt got any of that, i only assume your using a 'questionable source' version of the game.

Maybe I didn't phrase things well. My primary question is I'm assuming there is gear and skins in the game? Can that stuff be unlocked or edited?
I haven't bought the game at all yet, I'm trying to decide whether I should grab it now, or just wait until they come out with a cheaper version with all the bells and whistles.
I was just curious, but now that I think about it, for pre-release stuff, yeah I see how there may be a legal issue there, but I don't really care about that stuff.
But I was remembering how in Dawn of War II there was a gear unlock cheat, and I'm pretty sure it included the incentive gear, no one really seemed to care about that. I guess it's become a more and more sensitive issue with micro-transactions and paid DLC.

Oh, and since I don't have any of that stuff just means I wanted to wait until the game could be properly reviewed, so didn't pre-order it! = p
Also, technically, nobody paid for it though, right? It was just free stuff retailers were offering? Lol. I know that won't fly, I'm just being a smartass.

I'd be interested in this as well, some of the epic runes look good but I don't particularly want to grind for them.
I did pre-order from Steam so I don't have the pre-order runes from Amazon, Best Buy, etc. and if they are already there in the game code I don't see a problem with them being made available (assuming of course this doesn't end up as some sort of DLC down the line).

its easy to get the runes, just threaten every captain, then kill them all to get the epic runes. Then wait for them to be replaced with new captains, and start again, i havnt gotten through my first lot of captains yet, and ive already got full epics in my sword and dagger. Bow is a bit trickier since most captains are immune to ranged weapons, and the finishing kill determines what rune you get.

actually legality is not an issue as the pre-order items are not actually paid for, they are simply an incentive to pay for the base game at a particular retailer on a side note it is possible to grab the preorder "dlc" and pop it into a game that didnt come with it since they are downloaded files and the engine does allow for loading non-packed game files
