Disclaimer: it's not a true clean install but a nice workaround to the activation issues.
Luckily I didn't have any activation issues on my desktop nor my laptop. I downloaded Windows 10 ISO via the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool, and upon the initial boot it asked me for my serial code, which I didn't have, so I clicked skip, and once in Windows it activated on it's own. Keep in mind that for this method to work, you must first upgrade the traditional way. Then you can do the clean install using the ISO. I hope this is helpful info to anyone struggling with activation issues. I can confirm that if you upgrade through the reservation app first, it does successfully tie the key code to your system.
