I can confirm that using the DDU to uninstall current nvidia drivers and then installing drivers up to but not beyond 337.88 will fix most of the constant crashing - I was able to play the game for two solid hours with no crashes, as opposed to crashes every 5 to 10 minutes before.
edit: I only have an nvidia setup so I can't make any suggestions for other cards
