Sorry, but can anyone explain to me is the trainer works only on Ubisoft app? I plan to buy the game

Sorry, but can anyone explain to me is the trainer works only on Ubisoft app? I plan to buy the game on ubisoft site, but i need to know if the trainer will work...

Yep, I got mine from there and it works as Description says:

WRITTEN FOR THE PATCHED (08.22.2014) RETAIL/STEAM/UPLAY VERSION OF THE GAME. May not work with all versions.
