Is there anyway to rollback to previous versions of games on Steam? I was having a great game in CK2: A Game of Thrones and the game updated to 2.1.5 and then 2.1.6 and because of that my saves are no useless. I was hoping to rollback to 2.1.4 so that I could continue it.

Nope no chance. Unless you have media of some kind.

Just make sure to turn off auto updating.

I do but it doesn't help when I don't know there is an update and it updates when I hit play. That is how CK2 updated on me. They need to make it so that turning off auto-updating stops all updates whether they are required or not.

There is no way to roll back. Plus to stop updates you go your games Library then right click on the ones you want to stop updating and click properties then the update tab and set it to not update.

But also to play that game you must run steam in proper offline mode. Not just settting freinds to offline.

Hi Toki, I have done that many, many times to my Steam games as you mentioned and they still auto update, always. I dont believe there is a way around that unless you are completely offline all the time. Which means you cant view specials, new games, participate in forums, etc.

I know I just find it really crappy that I can't permanently disable updates for games. That should be an option.

    For Paradox games:

Right click on the game in steam.

Properties->Updates->drop down menu, do not update.

Then play the game through its program shortcuts and not through Steam.

I say for Paradox games, because some bring up steam even through their normal exe. Paradox games don't.

I already had it set to do not update. When I went to play it a few days ago I didn't know there was a patch and when I hit play it forced the update on me. I didn't know about the short cut thing till now.

Steam does seriously need a permanent no patch option. I don't care if it locked me out of the MP in a game.
