Well I've decided to give the Gundam series a try, seeing how they've been a bit popular among the plebs and I'd love it if a Gundam fan could point out which Gundam series would be good to watch.

If you've been a hardcore fan you'll know there's like a bajillion of the series and I simply won't bother looking for Gundam from more than 20 years ago. As such I've been wondering which one of the many series would you recommend for someone who's just recently decided to watch Gundam.

I have no idea which series to watch and I'd need some guidance. I'd like to be left with a good impression of the Gundam series.

If the Gundam setting requires me to be knowledgeable of the background stories and these stories are in the older anime, then I guess I could watch them if I could find some place that has them.
So, which would you as a fan of Gundam or maybe just someone who's acquainted with the universe recommend to a newcomer?
    Ayy lmao

Gundam Seed Destiny (and Gundam Seed it's a one story) is probably the best of the newer ones.

If you're willing to watch somewhat dated, the Gundam Wing (1995) is the absolute best IMO. There's also Gundam X (1996).

Those are the ones worth watching. The story is pretty generic and can be understood from just watching one of the shows above, and there's no relations between characters spanning multiple series.

Gundam Wing is definitely one of the better-written stories, but it's hella old now.

Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny are fairly extenseive; not as well written but still pretty damn good. Seed Destiny seems a little thinner in the quality writing department than Seed. They'll also take a lot longer to watch: two seasons of 50 episodes each.

Gundam 00 is the faciest-looking series so far, I think, and with some pretty interesting characters and visuals, though the writing is fairly meh.
