This one did work: I put the () on it to see if it would keep the board from deleting the h t t p : / / from the link chain which is what I think happened to the first OP's post but it still deletes it. Just make sure you add the h t t p : / / before far-cry.

Me too! I bought 4 copies of Windows 7 Ultimate during a sale a couple of years ago.. Only used 2 so far and both work great for most XP/Vista compatible games and SOME older games.
Of course having a thing for older and MUCH older games I still have and keep up my older computers running Windows 98SE and Windows 95C OSR 2.5. Yep.. Showing my age again!! LOL.
Seems like the giveaway that Windows 8 was junk didn't quite sink in for most folks. When they dropped the prices to under $100 for brand new full retail versions it was a flag that the OS was worse junk than Vista was not a sales ploy to invoke high sales to get more people onto the boat, sinking at it is.
The big problem with MS is they run so fast to keep advancing the OS for the future they keep screwing up what they are rushing out the door... If they only took their time and left the previous "WORKING" OS in their support umbrella they could make sure the next OS was fully operational before it got out into the world. In my view. XP should NEVER have been dropped from support and decommissioned. Once service pack 3 was finished the OS was almost perfect. I never had a problem with it and I still don't. And it plays most any of the newer games short of Direct X11 based games. And I am quite sure it realistically wouldn't take much to get it DX11 compatible.
But of course. "WE MUST ADVANCE! WE MUST EVOLVE! THAT IS OUR MISSION IN LIFE!" At least that is what the rumor is! LOL
Well to my knowledge my old windows 3.1 system is still working. But I have to agree. XP should not have been taken off. Heck if I could I would have a system with that on it. Because I liked XP. I have a laptop with vista on it and it worked fine. Never really noticed issues with it. But yeah they need to work on the OS properly and not push push push. They should have kept win 8 to the mobile platform and not brought it to PC.
But back to the main subject matter.
I ended up pre ordering FC4 on amazon because if the price drops there and the game looks great al pay less than everyone else Just like with Watch Dogs. Even tho my baby is getting it £10 cheapear than my £60! Grrr *evil stare* Still love ya baby.

I'm happy with my windows 7 ultimate, Many problems are still being reported on Windows 8. I Just fixed my wife's friend's computer with Windows 8, It tried to load new updates and went into an error loading loop that locked out her computer. I had to do a F11 restore to get it running again! Microsoft needs a Windows FAFU version. Fix All F--k Ups.Any way I just bought FC4 Preorder from steam,I hope its a great game!
