I have confirmed that the trainer is within the archive of the latest. Please check your Anti-virus (or other security software) logs and ensure they are not accidentally deleting the files inside prior to you opening them.
If possible, you should ensure that your AV properly notifies you (the user) when it takes action on things in case you need to rollback that action. You may be required to do troubleshooting steps with your AV in order to make sure this isn't what's blocking it.

My bad, I keep forgetting that AVG Anti-Virus has web shields too. I have the latest trainer for this game now.
Trainer works on my Win7 x64 PC, however, on my Win10 x64, I run it, it shows up in 'Background Processes', but quickly goes away. Nothing comes up either. I have tried as Admin, Compatibility Modes, with AV turned Off, Game running first, nothing.
Base Trainer Version for 1.0.0.1
Sometimes even after disabling the AntiVirus there's still a background process running like Real Time Scanning. I recently had a similar situation in another game.
Try adding an exclusion for the Trainer's Exe file directly and see if that makes any difference.

Even when anti viruses are turned off they still run in the background.
What you could do is white listing the trainer executable in the anti viruses program(s) and let it run as normal, no need to put it (them) off.
Unfortunately, I did White-list the Trainer, and even Disabled the AV. Still shows up in BP, then closes out.
Avast and the Windows Security. I added the Exception for both the Directory and the .exe .
Edit: Even tried it on my GPD Win 2 which does not have Avast. Same thing.
With some Trainers, Avast will pop up saying it Blocked it for whatever reason. But with the this Trainer, nothing comes up. No Warning, nothing. I click on it, you see the little Circle going, then nothing. In the Process Manager, it comes up, then goes away after 2-3 Seconds.

1) downloaded using Microsoft Edge Windows 10, unpack, run as administrator, using Windows Defender as my antivirus. no issues. the trainer runs and no problems
2) downloaded using Chrome, Chrome won't let me download, says "dangerous". The trainer is not dangerous, so it's likely a false positive or some stupid algorithm or some reported thing that chrome is reacting to our trainer.
3) this leads me to believe that there is antivirus or some program causing your issue, not the trainer.
I cannot reproduce your problem on my machine, and likely if there was a massive issue with the trainer not running, it would have been reported by a lot more people and a long time ago.
best,
Cal
