Wait so is the game sending info to the server in even in single player, and if so isn't there some way it could be stopped (firewall, router ports, etc)?

The game automagically syncs your savegames onto the online cloud server when you go online again, you know, because cloud features 'n stuff. So yeah, it does communicate home.
If it *also* sends other stuff home, besides your savegames... probably, but I can't say for certain.

This game's "protection" is BS. ENB users getting banned and PvP hackers still playing. You dupe = ban, you use a graphics mod = ban, you cheat online = no ban :<

Basically what they're mainly looking at are values that don't match up, this is how you are getting banned... The main values they automatically check are SL vs SM.

If you are level 100 and only have 100K SM you are basically putting a target on your account if someone reports you.
Reports from multiple users will put a flag on your account and when a server mod does their routine check, they will look for obvious dependencies and then you are getting black listed.

This system is NOT automated, it is done by a human individual and they only do these checks every 72 hours... meaning there is quite some time involved if you know you're going to be banned.

It took me 8 days to finally get nailed by a ban for using the trainer. I was banned because I gave myself way too many freakin souls and my soul memory wasn't even a fraction of what I had banked on my character. This was stupid on my part but it happens because you think you're untouchable.

There are some individuals also being banned for using texture mods and stuff to affect the way the game looks. I found a couple of Steam forum users that are looking in to the problem...

They know of a secret method to access the main servers again if you've been black listed and I have been trying to contact them. They stated they are willing to help non-cheaters reinstate their accounts but who knows if they were just blowing smoke...

The guy deleted the Youtube video show casing the black list server in action. I think they are just done with the Dark Souls 2 community in general as they were banned from the Steam Forums for showing this video.

These guys are afraid that cheaters are going to get a hold of this info and run rampant all over the servers (which they already are any way).

If I can get a hold of them and see what their solution is, I will try to help as many people on CH as I can get their main accounts reinstated. For now, you have to play using an alternate family shared account.

Rizer, was it a softban or a VAC ban that showed up on your profile?

And if a VAC ban, could you play any of your Source engine games?
I know that VAC bans are only engine-specific, but it helps to be completely sure than reading something and accepting it with no proof.
