Just saw a video about Watch Dogs and misleading game trailers. Gist of it was Watch Dogs actual gaming is something less than the Trailers released for E3 and such, and the point he made was, it's much like Colonial Marines. The Trailers are much better than the actual game. That would be hugely disappointing if so. Look here -

AND, in another video they were saying the multiplayers will be able to drop into the single players games. Shades of Dark Souls 2 and more VAC problems? WTF.
I'm not liking this mixing of the two gaming styles, it's pizzin me off. That and the tendancy of publishers to release fantastic trailers of games then the subsequent gameplay is dumbed down and doesn't quite add up to the hype and promise.
Glad I didn't pre-purchase either one now, WD or DS2.
Thoughts?
Sounds similar to Star Wars: The Old Republic. The pre-release CGI trailers were amazing but the game play at launch was less-than-stellar and didn't really reflect anything shown in said trailers. The trailers were basically mini-movies that had no game play samples and were only marginally pertinent to the in-game story arcs.
After much player outcry, multiple patches, hot-fixes, and behind-the-scenes changes (staffing shakeups and changes to the direction and vision of future content) the game is much better than the initial iteration. It still has no real correlation to the cinematic trailers as referenced above but, taken in and of itself the game play is palatable now and, like I previously stated, the cinematic trailers were pretty cool by themselves.
Well I am still keeping my pre order for my DESEC Edition. As much as AC was a **** up I still enjoyed it. Even if WDs go's that way am still going to enjoy it for what it is. But I can vouch on what Tech says.
Toki, don't get me wrong, I hope the game totally rocks. I'm a gamer, I want good games. Great games.
When I started gaming thru Steam and buying a lot more games, I had to lay off the $40-$60 pre-purchase and day 1 games. Something I found tho was when I used to pre-order, I was so frantic for the title, so rabid to start playing it, with such high expectations, it was easy for a game to disappoint.
Now I wait till they go on sale at least once and I'm almost never disappointed with the bigger titles. I always figure I got a bargain. Not always easy to wait for a sale, tho, I'll tell ya that. But it's mighty satisfying after waiting awhile. Happy gaming, bro!
I plan on playing the game in offline mode. I play single player because I like to not have to deal with people.
I feel ya. If you feel like eating a pizza instead of doing that next mission, you eat pizza. Nobody bytches.

Why I never have any expectations about games. I collect CE's and exspensive hobbie about its something I love. So £60 for WD CE is a nice price to me.

TBH, my experience is exactly the opposite.
SWTOR was awesome at launch (and you already had an option to try it out before purchasing during the beta).
However during time&patching it became a terrible boring grind, as the patches did nothing more than accentuate the game's faults while doing nothing with its potential.
