The Kingston one has high sequential read and writes
Do you mean on the benchmarks? Because on official specs the gskill aims much higher.
Anyway I need it as an os drive, will it perform better than the gskill?
kingston v300 120gb vs. Gskill phoenix iii 120gb.
The specs mean nothing to me because I looked for benchmarks and each benchmark says different stuff and it's really confusing but they are all far from the official specs.
So I'm asking if someone knows his share on ssd's and has experience can determine which one I should use.
Thank you.
I personally would go with the Kingston brand. I have built and upgraded multiple systems over the years with Kingston, GSkill and Samsung brand SSD's. In real world usage, I have found that all 3 brands perform about the same. While Samsung was the fastest, Kingston came in second. The speed difference between all three drives was not noticeable until you ran into larger files, ie 1gb or larger. As far as reliability goes, again I found that Kingston was more reliable than GSkill especially in a Notebook configuration. That is why I suggest going with the Kingston brand.
Not to sound like a commercial, but I would suggest going with Samsung's 840 EVO series if you can find one. They are rock solid, fast, and reasonably priced.
