I thought I bought a PC game, nope, this is console game.

All prompts are for gamepad, impossible to remap my G700s 4 and 5 buttons.

They call that porting a game from PS3/4 and Xbox but they forgot what porting means.

Total dissatisfaction + 50 bucks down the drain

Compared to Dark Souls 1 on PC, the controls for KB&M are much better, however, controller was always going to be the better option. The question now, is going to be seeing how well they support PC after launch. Also, give it a week or two, and see if there are any mods developed to address binding issues.

The game is pretty advanced for a console port, the game was released on consoles first, it started on consoles and you can use the mouse in menus (even the mouse wheel to scroll the EULA at the start) and while it still shows the button prompts for gamepads, it works really well with either setup. I'm sure they will have some fixes soon

WHY on Earth would they fix a game that You state are working really well???

The UI is a little messed. Performance is great, and the game looks a great deal better than the console releases. From Software is a niche company that is almost entirely new to PC development. Cut 'em some slack.

I'm rather disappointed with the mouse and keyboard controls. They made big promises about greatly improving them this time around and basically designing the PC version to put those as the main control scheme. Guess they lied.

It's also stupid that some keys give you hell if you try to remap them. Like Enter, which is used for multiple commands.

I'm using a controller for the game simply because it's less of a headache. I mean, clicking for normal attack and double clicking for strong attack? It makes it impossible to pull off a regular combo, as you would normally click rapidly for that. It's just stupid.

This style of game plays so much better with a controller anyway. I got a controller for the first one, as well as the Castlevania games, and so I instantly just plugged mine in when I started DS2. Instead of complaining about KB/M controls, which will likely NEVER be as perfect as you're wanting them to be, just go get a damned controller. I'm all about the PC Master race, and I'm using one, so what's stopping you?
