wmic os get dataexecutionprevention_supportpolicy
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has the option of Opt-In by default which means developers have to explicitly enable the option in their programs for it to monitor them. This of course can be changed to Opt-Out where it monitors all programs except ones specified in DEP options.
You can check your DEP settings by running the below command in command prompt:wmic os get dataexecutionprevention_supportpolicy
It will output a number which corresponds to below:
0 - DEP is disabled for all processes. [Always Off]
1 - DEP is enabled for all processes. [Always On - Ignore Opt Out specifications]
2 - DEP is enabled for only Windows system components and services. (Default) [Opt In]
3 - DEP is enabled for all processes. [Opt Out]
A value of 2 should not cause any issues.
Additionally trainers being terminated by DEP Protection will trigger a notification that tells you that DEP terminated the process for that reason. If you did not see this notification, DEP is unlikely the culprit.

With me it was terminating one of the Updated Baldursgate games with out a message which was strange a heck. But when I told it to ignore it. It worked.
