Regarding the issue about the Number Pad options not working. I might be wrong about this, but in the past the options had 2 things that you had to watch out for.
1. You need to have at least one of the item that you are trying to add. Note that at least of the item has to be in 1 of 3 places. The storehouse, stockpile or tavern. It does not count if it is in the Market Place, Trade Post, or House.
2. When you add the item, the item will get created in the last storehouse or stockpile that was created. In regards to Alcohol it will get stored to the last Tavern.
Looks like you didn't really read any posts at all before coming with your suggestions...
I am also having the same problems. Legit steam+game. Only /and * funtion properly.
start game
click on stockpile
see what items you have (i.e. logs)
click option to increase that item (i.e logs)
you have 1000 more of the item
tested here working 100%
