So it looks like the update replaced all the files in the assets with empty folders. Anyone where the files are stuck now?

Yeah, this is a problem, I don't think they got moved, they were just hidden, 'cause when I look at the size of the asset's folder it's 700mb+

True, but the Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\assets\recipes\starter folder is the one which concerns me the most. I used to be able to use copper ore to smelt in items as needed by editing the furnace document. Made it damn useful for determining what costume items were worth getting.
