I'm almost half way through the game, I think, I just broke into olives office and hacked his pc. I am just so excited to see how they continue the story!

Just a random question, without any detailed answers or spoilers, do we get to do anything assassin-wise (kill, shoot, stab, etc.) in the real world or just run around hacking things?
Simply yes or no will suffice please.

I have to give it two ratings.

I'd give it a 9 for the open world pirating aspect, there's lots to do and many places to go with many things to do in-between, including diving, harpooning and of course the naval battles.
I play with a 360 controller, and they managed to make them very intuitive and very easy to get used to.

I'd give a 5 for the assassin related stuff. The story is sub-par compared even to ACIII which I though was the worst so far. The on foot missions are boring, feel disconnected and is not worthy of an AC title. Edward never really becomes an assassin, being mentored by absolutely nobody and yet the assassins from the order don't give a f*ck about it even though he kills a true member of the order and wears his clothes abroad.
I do know he's a pirate and is moved by greed, but they should have made a game about pirating then, not related to the series.
    Very disappointed with these.
It get a 7 as an overall rating.

REALLY hope Liberation HD does better in the assassin aspects of the game.

EDIT: bayjell65432, sadly no. Remember "you" are simply an Abstergo Entertainment employee in this game.

As someone who has never played any of the AC games, and therefore have nothing to compare it to, I absolutely LOVE it. I've spent so many hours (according to steam, 15 so far) just putzing around out in the ocean, collecting things, doing the harpoon mini-games, taking out ships...and I've barely even started the game lol. I've already upgraded almost every part to max (minus elite upgrades) without even using the trainer to edit my storage. So, so many ships taken down! Freaking LOVE this game.

I just finished the game and I hate this now!!!!
It didn't advance the "real world" at all except for why Desmond died. Ugh they really are milking the series.

Take away the "real world" crap and its probably the best Pirate themed game I've played.

I think they really need to drop the series the way it is now because they managed to do period part of the game pretty well.

I never finish Assassins Creed Revelations or III due to the Desmond and the real world crap, it bored me.

I've gotten so much further into IV.

I love, love, LOVE the pirate's gameplay, it's like an amazing version of Sid Meier's Pirates!.

The story missions, though, are annoying as all heck. I hate those, especially the ones where I have to avoid being seen. It feels so frustrating having to endure so much crap for such an awesome naval battles gameplay.

I think it's the best AC installment BECAUSE it has the added pirate gameplay. If they would just get rid of the actual AC gameplay, I would be in high heavens.
