Hey guys, I'm thinking of upgrading my old PC a little bit so it can support newer games (even it it's on low, just as long as I can play them). However I don't want to waste a lot of money on it since it's a backup PC that's not used oftenly, only when I'm visiting home (my main one is in my flat and I can't move it here and there constanly). Basically I'd like it to run Diablo 3, COD Ghosts, Planetside 2 (just to run it, don't need no fancy explosions and trees).

    Specs:
    ASUS P5QPL-AM
    Intel Core2Quad Q6600 @2.4GHz
    nVidia GeForce GT220
    4GB RAM DDR2
    LC Power LC6550GP Version 2.0 350W

I was told to replace the GFX card for a GTX 560/GTX 560ti/GTX 650ti or a Radeon equivalent and to get a Raidmax 500W PSU, but I want your opinion as well.

Would'nt recommend those Nvidia series cards which use the fermi chips, major driver issues: Link

I would go for the equivalent Amd solution, for psu I would recommend the SeaSonic G-550 550W Gold Modular G-Series.

The 650TI has good price/performance ratio but I've seen many complains from these card owners as well, Nvidia simply decided it's not worth their time to invest in those cards anymore, just my hunch..

true, so maybe a amd equivalent will be good

although i had myself a 660TI, which gave no problems driver wise
whatsoever, but went later on to a asus geforce 780

    personal notes:

which is kinda obsolete again since asus released or is going to release the asus rog geforce 760 which has a dual gpu

    Link

    or the 780TI

Congrats, awesome card! The driver issues started about 1-2 months ago with these cards and it's only with the latest game ready drivers, but there are some users reporting that the new drivers are stable with their cards, the driver issues are related more to system components compatibility, that is the official developers response.
So maybe with his current setup he wont have a problem but I would'nt count on it.

The new patch reduced RAM requirements for Ghosts down to 4GB.

I'm thinking of going for the 7770 OC 1GB (all of them offered here are OC versions). It costs around 100 euros. The 7770 versions are from ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor and Sapphire. If I were to get a 7770, would it matter if it's ASUS or MSI or some other company listed above?
