How do you save in the game?

I have the steam version of the game, there is no comprehensive manual.

It auto saves constantly as far as I can tell.

I was in the middle of the first set of quest, having to go the first bad guy and decided to stop (1 o'clock in the morning UK time) but when I restarted the game I was back in the starting place at the docks.

OK as far as I can tell the only saving method is auto-save but it's only with regard to your character. Anytime you quit the game, no matter what you were doing and where, when you return it's at the Nexus dock.

The game auto saves any change in your character (stats, items in inventory, etc)everywhere. There are no saves when you are out on a mission but it will auto save the items you pick up.
