Anyone notice how people get angry because a game that they were looking forward too or like gets a bad review?

For example: The Escapist a gaming magazine I frequent gave GTA V a 3.5 out of 5 which equals to about a 7 which is good score. Some fans of the franchise didn't like that and are slandering The Escapist for not giving it a perfect score.

I think getting angry over a review score is stupid and very immature. At the heart of it a review is just someone's opinion on a game. It has been 9's and 10's on most gaming sties yet these people didn't focus on those they instead decided to focus on the 7 it got.

I don't get that. It just seems really immature to get angry about a review score.

I said that in the other thread that people will get butthurt about it.

Happened with the Last of Us. I knew it would happen with GTA V. People don't know how to take criticism directly or indirectly on things they like so much.

It is kind of childish.

Remember Aliens: Colonial Marines' review and the reactions of a few hardcore fanboys?

Well I loved that game "Aliens colonial marines" for me I won't read reviews because one mans meat is another mans poison, I always run a games title that I think I will like via youtube that gives me a great deal of info whether to purchase or not.

That was justified. The devs knowingly released a game that was FAR beneath what they had promised to offer. There is no excuse for promising a 10 and delivering a 2.

Well, I suppose that comment should lead to some form of NSA or FBI investigation.

To an extent though, I must admit, I can kind of understand when people get upset about these reviews. Primarily, I believe it is due to the frustration generated when the flames of their anticipation are suddenly fanned out. I have never been one to throw tantrums about it, but I get it.

A lot of that has to do with not understanding that a 3.5 is a 7.

And a lot of that has to do with what we teach (don't) children about criticism.
