i ran a test in windows 7 browsers and i found that the fastest browser for windows 7 is safari by apple!!!
but it needs a lot of ram so it can run perfectly at least 786m.b

    the test included (chrome-safari-opera-firefox).

From where I stand Firefox has always been better than Chrome. Chrome has never been faster or lighter than Firefox. The difference in browser speed is measured in miliseconds so it's just a matter of personal preferences. I've also been using Opera lately, ever since they introduced the Off-Road Mode (free integrated proxy). Chrome has always been in my top 3 worst browsers, not to mention that version 28 has a serious bug affecting the CPU.

I am currently using Version 29.0.1547.57 m of Chrome and it runs a dream.

Lately I would have to say Chrome is the fastest browser. Used to use Firefox but I have been having problems with it as of late.. being horribly slow and a huge memory hog.

The issue is with add-ons, not the browser itself

I never ran FF with any add-ons.

Then its definitely not a very wise decision at all since one of main advantages of running Firefox is because they have very active & great add ons that would surely benefit their user in many ways in good ways too
    Especially in security too
Running Firefox without any add ons is like running Windows without any anti virus

But Chrome is usually the faster one though

I run Chrome with a few addons, but when I was using FF I didn't have any. It ran slowly and used more memory than seemingly necessary.

You can run windows without an anti-virus and be perfectly safe as long as you aren't stupid about what you do online. The fact that you're running Windows alone doesn't magically make viruses appear on your computer. Mac, Linux, Unix, iOS, Android, everything is capable of getting a virus.

But we can never be sure & be too careful... its like when someone driving, sometimes, even when he drive safely, other's won't & it could affect other drivers too in bad ways

Its not always doing stupid thing online that attrat virus but nowadays virus always try to breach & infest every loop hole available that user might not be aware till to late, especially for casual end user

Everything capable of getting a virus or viruses but unfortunately & sadly, the most popular platform always suffer the most, which is Win

Its depend on your PC & style... someone like Chrome but others might prefer Firefox or even Opera

I've had a couple of surprising PC issues that required me to Format my PC with no time to backup my bookmarks.

While I backup my files every once in a while. I hated losing a couple of recent bookmarks I left in firefox.

In Chrome is that you can set it up to automatically save your bookmarks on your Gmail account. And i like that.
