I just created an account. Mainly to buy the game Splatter. Everything works exactly like Steam only slower, less organized, and with more error messages. What bugs me a little bit is that they try to gather and connect all your existing accounts from other sites or companies. The program also automatically detected my steam account and asked me to bind it to the Desura account which - of course - I didn't allow having God knows how many thousand bucks invested there.

Me neither. There are a few trainers that are for DESURA versions. Don't know when the released it but it's like a Steam for smaller indi games.

You often see Indie Kings bundles with games distributed by Desura.
It's essentially the same as Steam, but caters to indie games.
Which is a good niche to have.
I haven't used it, though. Haven't had the necessity.
