The AI of this game is overwhelmingly fast and powerful and I'm playing on the lowest difficulty

A health cheat will be added once the game is released or the single player is available. As of now it would cause a desync.

trainer isn't working i go to activate it in game and the gold and research isn't unlimited, help?

I've tested the trainer the options are working. Make sure you're not in skirmish and you're playing a LAN game versus AI. Also don't forget to end your current turn. I guess you probably forgot the last step.
