Also there's a difference between creative truth telling and outright lies. This is the latter. For every nVidia-related 'my video card is breaking my game' complaint, I've heard a dozen AMD-related complaints of the same thing.
Other way about.
The titan is faster than the 780 by about 2-5%

And the 690 is much better than a single titan, but a couple of titan sli's are much better than a couple of 690 sli's..
