    Just in the one ear.

Which causes a kind of disorientation akin to having just one ear boxed but without the discomfort.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

I have this all day but in both ears.

Apparently people can go crazy from this... i've had it for years... i'm thinking i'm already crazy as i'm so used to the constant ringing that i need it to sleep...

    Yup.

    Spoiler:

I enjoy eating cookies with milk

If you work around loud noises, it'll get worse as you get older. A lot worse.

When you get to be my dad's age, after six decades of explosions, gunfire and loud factories, it'll be louder than any normal external sound.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

Man, that'd be crazy. Imagine hearing massive French Horns in your ears 24/7. Would you even be able to adjust to it, or would you constantly hear the boom?

He sleeps in a separate room from my mom, with a TV in there turned way up.

Listens to talk radio so loud that distortion makes the voices unintelligible.

And utterly refuses to consider that there could be medical solutions. (there weren't medical solutions in the 70s when his dad looked in to it, and medical science hasn't advanced since them...right)

It's bad again, but that's because I was drinking and playing Trivial Pursuit.

I had temporary tinnitus once, every time I got up I would be spinning on the spot in my head, not literally spinning on the spot.

The only time I've ever had it was when I was fifteen. A firecracker went off in my hand. The wick of the firecracker was coiled around and I hadn't noticed when I went to light it. Instead of taking a few seconds to burn away, the wick instantly lit and set off the firecracker. I lost feeling in my hand and had a ringing noise in my ears for about a half hour. I'm totally fine now, though.
