Hi, I just tried some of my older trainers and they all crash on startup - at the authenticating stage. All the latest titles work fine. Any idea? I have tried re-downloading...

If the trainer crashes during authentication then it's either related to the reasons named in the thread I've linked or caused by any security software. Have you tried to disable your AV and firewall?

Thanks, I have unloaded my firewall but no joy. It's only older ones that are not patched so I am trying to get an off-line key to see if it's some change in the authentication that is not in the older trainers? Problem is ATM that it wont accept my 'secret', I'll keep trying...
Got the key and it works fine in around 50% of my titles with no internet. Same with others, mostly older ones although RAGE also crashes

Yeah, something has changed in the authentication (actually it could be the first thing after?)that is not in older trainers. Just got the latest RAGE and it's fine. Disappointed that I can't get the older ones to start even in off-line, it's a hard crash and they all used to work.

Are you 100% sure you don't have IE10 installed?
If you have Windows Updates set to automatically install updates then it would have installed itself.
Open up IE and go to the About under the cog top right.
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

Doh, so sorry, I never use it, you're correct, guess windows update screwed me! Do you know a quick way to roll it back or get rid without causing other problems?
Thanks again - champ!
Removed via updates. Now fine, thanks again and sorry for the trouble since I did not FULLY check the threads
