The best way to break a habit is to replace it with something else. Since most people default to nail biting when they're nervous or bored, I'd suggest learning some sort of dexterity activity that keeps your hands busy when you feel the urge to bite your nails. Try pen twirling or learning to roll a coin over your knuckles. Any time you feel like biting your nails pull out a pen or coin and practice.

I also have a bit of anecdotal advise; When I was a young lad my sister had the same problem. My mom solved the issue when she borrowed my microscope to show her how filthy fingernails were up close. Broke the habit on the spot.

Play more games.

Funny enough I looked at my younger brothers today when I came to see my parents as he still lives at home. He passed me something and I noticed his nails, they are horrible. Barely there from all his nibbling on his nails.

They are so bad he barely has any nails left he eats them so much, and he only seems to do it when concentrating on stuff, watching tv etc i take it you do that too?

Also this thread will be moved I think, because this is not about games, cheats etc. This should be in off topic.

This is true the stuff you paint on your nails really is vile tasting and it takes a long time to get that taste away, so if you buy the stuff Do Not Bite your Nails. lol..

Funny enough you can actually warm to that...

Reason being when my cousin was younger she used to suck her thumb... Alot. So her parent my Aunty brought that weird thing that is supposed to stop you sucking your thumb.

You dunk your thumb in and it taste so bad they do not want to do it... I tried it and almost threw up... She warmed to it and did not bother her, so they tried nail polish, remover, paint etc and she just warmed to them and stopped eventually but everything they tried it did not work lol.

I think, take a look at your nails and then everyone elses and think.. Do you really want the horrible nails to go like that or would you like nice nails and then force yourself to stop.

Put on gloves.
