I too am having problems with older trainers like Torchlight for Steam. The trainer instantly crashes without doing anything. I ran it as admin but still nothing works. Newer trainers like Torchlights 2 or Total War Shogun 2 work perfectly. All older trainers crash instantly (Last remnant, Torchlight, GTA IV ... etc). I even tried to use the offline key and disable av/fw. Nothing helps. Either it crashes instantly or waits for a few secs and crashes then. I'm having this issue for about 2 weeks. Don't know how to bypass that and getting my trainers to work again.

Have you installed anything lately that might be interfering? I've looked up and down my Programs and Features list and didn't find anything. I've even gone so far as to uninstall MSE and disable Windows Defender.

I'm using Avira Internet Security 2013. Worked before, but doesn't work now. Even the offline key isn't recognized, or at least the trainer is bailing out looong before checking if there's an offline key. All newer trainers work perfectly, only the older ones won't. I've got the trainer folder in my whitelist, and on the scanner's exception list.

Cabal let me guess you have Internet Explorer 10.
The big clue was when you said OLD trainers.
