when i download it and try to run it . it pop up with a window saying what program do you want to open it with a trainer have never done that before
You do need to unzip/unrar the file you downloaded.
I can't download the trainer for steam , please need help

Close your browser, clear your cache, restart your PC and try to download the trainer file again.
Disable your AV (or any other security software) temporarily.
F1 doesn't work for me.

Why do you have an issue with the activation? Do you get an error notification or something?
Wow no response to this since 2013, yet same issue, game says 1.4.700.47 and trainer won't activate with F1 because it says 1.4.700.49, previous trainer isn't working either(I also put it in windows 8 compatibility mode to see if that was the issue, nope). I pulled the game out of mothballs to play again and it still looks decent and has widescreen support so downloaded this trainer and encountered the issue. I quoted someone's post but it didn't work, was talking about the weird version issue that may be the cause of it not working...
