For a while now, I have been surprised at what I personally feel is somewhat unconstructive behaviour in and on this site.

I dont understand why everybody lets their tempers flare:

It seems many customers become irate and irrational in their correspondence towards moderators, programmers etc, if they dont get the solution they want exactly when they want it.

Which considering the very low cost of becoming a life-time member is neither fair nor reasonable.
The sheer volume of trainers for this very low initial fee are staggering. But you get what you pay for (and then some), meaning that this isnt a 24-7 hotline (even though CH are actually very fast). So c´mon everybody:

Be respectfull in your tone and content, nobody should accept being verbally abused (or in writing as the case is).

The cumulative effect is that everybody gets annoyed, thus creating a circle of bad karma and irritation. So think before you type please...

Having said that then I must say that it seems to me that the moderators are fairly quickly angered as well.

I dont know if this is caused by the sheer volume of non-productive outburst by the members as decribed above, or the rather huge workload of maintaining this site.

But I dont think that its very constructive to retire trainers as a way of punishing someone who cannot converse in a calm and polite way.
Especially as the person thus penalized is not alone, and all the calmer members will lose their trainers this way.

So ... with all due respect for everybodys view- and standpoint:

For the good of all, could we try to keep calm and solve issues in a more rational tone ?

    Have a nice day everyone

i am no better myself i get snarky when i see how the mods/owners get treated by people that dont want to accept that they cant fix things within 5 seconds. as a user i try to treat the crew with respect. after a patch you get lots of "wahwahwah trainer not work! fix nao! wahwahwah" after awhile with allot of such behavior you tend to let your mood get the better of you. which leads to mood flare ups. but i agree people need to just calm down.
Since there are people who give me crap for my grammar and is to lazy to check my profile I will say it here as well. I am dyslexic so give me a break as I *TRY* to spell correctly.

I don't mean to sound like anything but a person providing my opinion but this is the internet, you aren't going to find many rational people here. Obviously it's annoying when you're trying to be calm and civilized about what's bothering you and you're providing solutions in order to potentially alleviate your problem, and all you get in response is what seems to be a gorilla mashing on the keyboard, or when some idiot is caps locking you in anger, providing nothing but rage and hatred. You can't do anything about it but Link and move on.

Actually I beg to differ. Completely.

I know its the internet, but that doesnt mean that everybody is entitled to act like children throwing tantrums.

Nor in fact is it the most effective way to achieve anything.

What we need to do is seperate those within the borders of rational thought, as opposed to the few troglodytes that seem to get off on ranting and rawing like demented gorillas.

Banning those who repeatedly have shown themselves incapable of calm and polite dialogue is one facte of it.

But as I pointed out in the beginning then everyone needs to take a calm breath INCLUDING moderators and the rest of us.

    Its not that hard really...

You mean like trolling the CH message boards and telling the members, mods, and, staff to be calm and polite?
You had to have known that this would get reactions.
    Mabye that's what you want?
    Just sayin...

    Whos "trolling" ???

I was making a very calm observation, and off course I expected reactions.

Does that mean that I agree with whatever is posted ?

The obvious answer is NO, the point being that meaningfull discourse is NOT about finding the One True Answer but rather project your arguments and defending them in a rational manner.

Or not. Im pointing my fingers at no one, again just making a calm observation, to which you can agree or not - or refute if you think its invalid.

There is a marked difference between getting a rational response to which my answer would be that dialogue is the answer here.
As opposed to shallow and irrational statements with no real argumentative content.

My point as it were was that everybody show some restraint - and yes I do mean everyboyd.

You disagree - fine, that is your right and I would defend it even though I dont agree.

But try looking at some of the boards and I believe that my point is easily validated.

    As always:
    Have Nice day !

i feel like the amount of pure stupidity on these boards has dropped off significantly over the years since i've been here.

comparing what the boards are like now to what they were like in 2005-2007, there is much less spamming, trolling, flaming, and rule breaking in general.

one thing that hasn't really changed is the people who fill up the trainer boards with posts like 'trainer crashes game, HELP NAO!!' without going through the trainer troubleshooting guide that will solve the problem 90% of the time, or 3 pages of members saying the exact same thing, 'GAME PATCHED PLEASE UPDATE TRAINER!!!'. And this will always be the case because most people are impatient and feel entitled to instant gratification, and most don't understand what a trainer really is/how it works.

Back in the day, the mods were putting in some work. there were several topics getting locked/deleted, tons of posts being edited/removed, and several members getting banned nearly every day.....Now i've been a mod since 2011 i'm responsible for the banning of 5 whole members, and that is including members who literally asked for their account to be deactivated...so i'd say that in the perspective of general members around here, the boards and community as a whole are much more tolerable than they were in previous years.

seriously though, we(mods) get 1 post report every 1.5 - 2 weeks on average, and for 25% of them, the post reported isn't even breaking any rules.
