I just started the game and is currently in sequence 2. I manage to go through the beginning part just fine.. the problem started when I have to shoot the barrel... I can't seem to be able to select the pistol nor am I able to move anywhere..
I have tried selecting the pistol by going into the menu pressing R... and also using the number keys..
I have also tried restarting from the point where I talk to the guy near the corn field before the first shot is fired.. that didn't help..
Anyone else had this problem?? Or anyone here know of a possible solution?
Thanks.
If you move the camera and look down on the ground the rifle should be lying there. It was for me. I was frustrated also til I did that. Also make sure you aim at the barrel on the ground. Good Luck to you and Happy New Year.

Playing this in 2018:
Usual UbiSoft prank of "Hey. Let's change a few keystrokes from the previous game of the series. Coz we can"
Selecting the pistol isn't necessary.
On PC, aim then press Q!
Took me an epoch to discover it, then only by going back to the gate-guys - when you pick up a musket, screen message says to do this. Continued to gunpowder barrels and tried it. Woohoo!
Seems all games (Assassin's Creed anyway) uses varying keystrokes and combinations, only advised on the HUD. Too bad if your attention's elsewhere and miss it!
