Only thing I can suggest is using the no-cd fixes with the trainer to avoid anti cheat checks.
Tried that, trainer still crashes no matter where I put or how I start it.
I've found a working alternative for this particular game in the meantime, thanks for the support. First problem I've had with a trainer from here so no biggie.

did you click the PLAY button on the game launcher such that the ACTUAL GAME is running?
otherwise I have no clue. I just ran the game from steam, then clicked PLAY on the launcher, then pressed F1 and I tested the trainer and it works fine.
if pressing F1 doesn't make any sounds, alt tab out and do it.

this game hasn't had any anti cheat triggers since I began working on it. I just played the game with trainer and all options tested working 100%.
