This is ridiculous, this game is getting more updates than the newer titles. The trainer activates but none of the functions work.

yeah.. it's broken, or still early release, or the developers just cannot do anything correctly without 10 patches to fix their broke game.

As of today (4th of September 2015) the trainer is not working. At first options seem to be loading, but nothing happens until the game crashes at some random point. I don't know if it was working thus far, but with the current Steam version, it is not working.

is this game still in early release?

I don't think it ever was, I've had the game for a few years and it's never been Early Access.

Edit:
I know they removed GFWL a while ago, it came to Steam in 2012.
