What we want to do is partner directly with these cloud gaming services in order to program trainers specifically for their service (along with signing a contract for quality control, etc). Our trainers could be designed to be activated through the game client with a popup window for the trainer options, etc. By parterning directly, they are getting the trainers from a single source and they don't have to worry about things like trying to use and test non-working trainers from stupid people like h4x0r. I would invite and encourage other quality trainer makers to join our petition if they are interested. I can only speak for us.
In case you haven't noticed, "cheats and functionality created by the developer of the game" is pretty much non-existent at this point. We release over 90 trainers a month. I can count on one hand how many games had built-in cheats over the last YEAR.
We are trying to take a proactive stance here and get the communication window open before we all wake up one day and streaming games is pretty much the only way to play because things like continued rampant piracy finally pushed game developers over the edge to where they don't have to worry about it with streaming services. Not to mention internet speeds are getting faster so they could easily stream games at 2560x1600. NVidia is working on a new graphics platform just for cloud gaming servers which would allow each server to stream more games at once and on higher quality settings. Sony just purchased cloud gaming service Gaikai for $380 million. This could very well be the future of gaming and we would like to be a part of it. This is why we started the petition.
Very true, there's no denying that cheat options are getting more rare all the time - and unfortunately, with the "always online" and server-streamed content - many developers are actively taking a stance.
Trying to tell the developers (and publishers) what their customers want is a great idea - as they/we are the ones that in the end make their living.
Thing is, though, there are alternatives to CH trainers (I'm just trying to see it from a neutral standpoint here - it's not as black and white as CH vs. h4x0r.) - and it's important to state that they're part of the business/community of trainer creation as well. Given, CH has a far more extensive development and quality control cycle than most trainer developers, but that's not to say there aren't alternatives. (Tropico 4 being an excellent example - the CH trainer has one option, that, after hours of troubleshooting, still crashes the game when trying to be used. MT-X has 9 options that work just fine.)
If you get developers or publishers to see the players' desire for trainers and cheats, and that you guys get the deal to create trainers fair and square, alternatively get other trainer creators to join forces with you - I'm 100% in support of the initiative. It'd be really ideal if you could integrate your trainers/services more directly into a game, and/or in a game streaming service.
Bottom line again; it's an interesting development, and cheating (or rather the option to play as you want to play) should definitely be a part of it in some way - it's great to see that someone from the "cheating industry" (that sounds bad, but what I'm saying is essentially trainer and cheat creators) truly taking up the matter to general gaming industry pioneers and other prominent gaming industry companies.
