well, you can play as the Iceni, which is a brittanic tribe.
so, you can play with the ancestors of the british..

I, for one, want to see Rome burn...and that's just what i'm gonna do..

Medieval 2 Total War seems like it's a go for the next title, thoughts?

I'm very stoked, I vastly prefer the melee engagements to the cannon/ballistics engine in Emp/Nap--- here's hoping they complete the cycle.

Yeah, I'd like to see the next one after Rome 2 be Medieval 3, but perhaps start in the dark ages - maybe the 600s or 800s. I've really enjoyed the new RPG/progression elements they've added into characters, and I'd like to see a more Crusader Kings II like system for Medieval 3 - playing as a dynasty as you try to maintain control of feudal Europe. The more personal and human they make the characters the more they grab my interest, and I'd love to see this trend continue. I remember in Medieval 1, sending the son I wished to disinherit off to his death with only his loyal retainer and a couple regiments of vikings - and watching him return, victorious, I proudly made him my next king. Those personal stories add a fantastic element to the game, and I think the sword and bow eras are a good place for them. While combat was certainly enjoyable in Empire/Napoleon, I never felt connected to the generals. If they died, or my ruler died - whatever, I'd get a new one. Even after a couple years of Empire I found myself going back to play Medieval again and again - adding new mods, like Third Age or Stainless Steel, or writing my own, etc. To this day, it remains my favorite. Hopefully that will change in an hour, though.

I would love to see a new Medieval Total war.
"The tools may be more effective than those who battled before you but make no mistake, you are no less a barbarian than your ancestors with their clubs and rocks. The only difference now is you do it without honor; cowering behind your guns, your bombs. You don't use tactic, just force..."

I was a bit torn on whether or not to get this one as I fell in love with the likes of Napoleon and Empire TW.

But sometimes you get into the mood to just have one of those 'meatgrinder' battles and what better place to do it than on TW Rome 2.

Running through the Macedon campaign at the moment and thoroughly enjoying it. Really pleased I purchased this one...So I'd recommend it to anyone who wasn't sure!
