Ok found the solution first off go to forums.amplitude-studios.com/showthread.php?9258-Tutorials-for-Modding-ES

your going to have to make a simple mod for this to work but its easy, first follow the how to create a mod directions, then go to your new mod directory under the simulation folder find the file called FactionTrail.xml and open with notepad++ then its the same directions as given in the begining of this thread. after that just run the mod.. im in the middle of this now just wanted to get people going in the right direction

can someone give the EXACT line of where the changeable data is in NotePad++, please?

If not, then my Steam version is bugged, cause i've searched all thing relating to it, and nothing has popped up.

I am in exactly the same boat. I get a bunch of code, which I can't remember the name for... Same code used in injector in CoSMOS, if that helps anyone.

Here is an excerpt, just line 1:

Except its divided into 5 columns, and digits are paired, like so:

00 00 4C 34 00 95 02 A8

That is the first line of the first of the five columns.

I do not speak this code. Anyone have any ideas?

hey guys,found what to do on the steam forums. Apparently you go to Program(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/endlesspace/public/simulation using notepad++ open factiontrait and use the search option to find Cost="65". this should bring up all the faction affinity names.

AS of right now, I have edited the maximum custom race points. Haven't actually started a game yet. Just thought ya'll should know.

I am so confused

I realize I am a bit late to the party, but what you do is edit this file in Notepad++
Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Endless Space\Public\Simulation\FactionTrait.xml
Use the notepad++'s search function (ctrl+f), click on the replace tab and under the Find What: box put Cost="65" and in the Replace With: box put Cost="999" after you do that click the Replace All button. You now have 999 points for all but two of the custom race Affinities. To get the other two just use notepad++'s search function (ctrl+f) again, click on the replace tab and under the Find What: box put Cost="60" and in the Replace With: box put Cost="999" after you do that click the Replace All button. And be sure to save. You are now done. Play the game and create a new custom faction and enjoy.
