yes the fine developers of this game got tired of people using the trainers in Multiplayer and also getting super high scores in the leaderboards so they added 100's of steam scan triggers to crash the game if it determines there is a change in the game .exe.
you can message them on their forums and thank them for making these changes so that you cannot mod or use trainers for this game any more.
best,
Cal
Hey Cal,
thanks very much man. I was wondering wth was going on with this game. I love how us gamers shell out a fortune for games, only to be told we cant use kinky little cheats. Telling ye, I think a firm whack on the head with the cd should do the trick.

Personally, this really irritates me. I too paid a lot of cash for this game through steam, and I don't need the developer telling me how I'm going to be allowed to play their game.
I have no intention of playing multiplayer, never have and never will (and I'm certain I'm not alone in this regard). For them to set restrictions and take away from my single player experience is unacceptable and I'm tempted to request a refund.
Unfortunately, I'm forced to consider another alternative to go back to the original unpatched version of the game so I can play it my way. If it gets me banned from here for discussing this "alternative", so be it, just remember that I DID purchase this game for $49.99 through steam and can provide proof. However, I can't enjoy the game the way I want to and feel this is my only option if I want to keep playing the game my way.
The developer should be commended for taking the steps to make the multiplayer experience better for those who take part in it, but don't screw over your single player customers in the process. For this reason I will certainly be on the lookout for future releases from this developer and will not purchase anything from them.
oh makes sense.. so i take it this means no trainer for the game again?
Hmm is there anyway to roll back a game update on steam?
we posted another trainer late last night.. read pwizard's posting a few posts up. seems to work fine as long as you keep in mind what he wrote-

Well, we stayed up ALL NIGHT examining this new update and have done our best to make the trainer invisible to the scanners. There is no way to test all of them and all the various trigger points. A new trainer has been uploaded and may work slightly different than before and options may need to be deactivated/reactivated between levels, cutscenes, etc.
ONLY use the options you absolutely need when you absolutely need them.
If the developer decides to add even more of this to the next patch, we may not be able to update the trainer further, but we will certainly try to keep updating it as long as we can.

I appreciate the hard work. It still irritates me that the developer would screw over the single players in favor of those who prefer multi play. But.... it is what it is.
Thanks just the same.
