Anyone know how riposte works? I press spacebar when they attack but nothing happends..?

First parry the attack by holding the right mouse button and pressing the left mouse button at the exact moment the enemy starts his strike to parry. The second you duck or dodge the blade hold space whilst still holding the right mouse button. It's damn hard, but when you get it right he will *****slap the bastards

Yup. Hold RMB, press LMB when they attack to parry, and when the hero ducks or parries press Spacebar immediately to riposte.

Since the devs never bothered to release the manual or any proper instructions

There is a manual... if you got digitally you can download it from Steam.

Obviously retail has a physical manual to browse :P
