    Hi all,

I am a first time player to the mass effect series. Yes... Yes... how dare I. I just jumped in at Mass Effect 3. I found the game, especially the cut scenes and storyline to be brilliant. What's the consensus? What do people think about the original and second games? Worth shelling out a few quid for?

In my books it is worth shelling out a few pounds for them. They are both well done. Interaction, story, characters etc, etc. ME3 is just as great bar the obvious bit at the end. But I will not go on about there here.

But back to the subject. Yes you should buy the 1st n 2nd. I still enjoy them now and still feel the same love for the story and characters. So yes get the 1st and 2nd.

**Now waits for my partner in crime to respond**

I found the ending slightly star trekish cliff hanger stuff, and dare I say I quiet enjoyed it.It was different not to have the chap ride off into the sunset.I shall now await the ceremonial stoning I shall receive .Sounds like I will have to grab the first two.

Welcome to the Mass Effect game series, glad to see you are enjoying ME3. Yes, I suggest you get ME1 and ME2 (I personally got all the DLCs for both games because options in the DLC can effect or add to the next game). I also recommend playing a character from ME1 to ME2 to ME3 because its always cool to see how your actions form the next game in the line. Also the stock Storyline at least for ME2 was all the 'worst' choices in ME1 imho.

Yes. You can import your ME1 character into ME2, then import from ME2 to ME3. There'll be subtle, and not so subtle, changes in the game and characters depending on what you do in the previous game(s).

"Remember the good old days when you could just slap Omni-Gel on everything?" - Shepard, ME2

"Not right now. Trying to determine how Scale Itch got aboard. Sexually transmitted disease carried only by Varren..... Implications unpleasant." - Mordin, ME2
